about
'AVALANCHE' is a live action feature-length fan film inspired by the world of Final Fantasy VII, made by the fans for the fans. It will be a gritty and emotional sci-fi adventure about the struggle to save a planet not so far from our own, inspired by the activists helping to save the city of Midgar.
Inspired by the fantastic world of Final Fantasy VII, AVALANCHE tells the story of a group of citizens moved by the imminent dangers facing the planet and their community, and band together to make a difference. On our current planet, military conflicts have been ongoing for years while major world leaders are indicted for crimes against humanity. This film is a message to stand up and make your voice heard against the many injustices happening on our planet, before it’s too late.
AVALANCHE is a non-profit fan film that will be free to stream online. All donations for our crowdfunding campaign will go to production costs including paying the cast and crew, locations, visual effects, and LA film permit fees.
Our film is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Square Enix Co., Ltd., its subsidiaries, or its licensors. All characters, names, and other elements associated with Square Enix are the property of their respective rights holders.

The story of Final Fantasy VII has resonated in the hearts of gamers for almost 30 years. The original game has won countless awards, including 'Best Game of All Time', 'Best RPG of All Time', and 'Top 100 Video Games'. When the Final Fantasy VII Remake was released in 2020, it became "one of the fastest selling Playstation 4 games, selling more than 3.5 million copies in 3 days, and more than 7 million copies by September 2023." Long story short, people around the world care about the characters in this story, and it's time to finally bring them a live-action adaptation.

Fallout. Resident Evil. Uncharted. Minecraft. Even Borderlands - The era of film adaptations of video games are upon us! And this campaign the opportunity to do something historic- create the first ever LIVE ACTION Final Fantasy feature film! I could never hope to reach the greatness of Advent Children, but I'm excited to bring the city of Midgar to life in Los Angeles and tell the stories of Biggs, Wedge, Jessie, and the other members of Avalanche prior to Cloud's arrival in Midgar.
We may not have the capabilities of a big budget studio, but I'm fortunate to have a team of professionals from the Los Angeles film industry as part of this project, all with the goal to make a movie we can be truly proud of. At the 2024 Academy Awards, Cord Jefferson said in his acceptance speech "instead of making one $200 million movie, try making twenty $10 million movies or fifty $4 million movies." It doesn't take millions of dollars to make a good movie, it takes a great team and a leader like myself who's truly passionate about the project.

With the production of AVALANCHE, I want to showcase the talents of every cast and crew member involved to help boost their careers in the film industry.

What will $50,000 pay for?
